RNLI 200 Jersey Flotilla

By St Helier Yacht Club Join Me

Calling for All Hands on Deck to help save lives

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the RNLI this year, St Helier Yacht Club is inviting all boat owners with suitable vessels to participate in a grand flotilla. Jersey boat owners are invited to show your appreciation to the RNLI for keeping us all safe at sea and join our grand Flotilla in St Aubins Bay on Monday the 19th of August.

The flotilla will parade from a muster point close to St Aubins Fort and then follow the shoreline, inside Elizabeth Castle and then into St Helier Harbour where vessels will disperse after passing in front of St Helier Yacht Club providing a magnificent spectacle for onlookers as well as participants.

This free event is open to all boat owners whose vessels meet the entry criteria which have the ability to maintain a boat speed of 4 knots and having a VHF radio onboard capable of channel 11 communication.

The fleet will include the RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat as well as vessels from Ports of Jersey, sailing and motor yachts, suitably crewed rowing boats, fishing boats and other vessels approved by the organisers subject to meeting the entry criteria.

Vessels should rendezvous near St Aubins Fort between 18:00hrs and 18:30hrs with the Flotilla taking part between 18:30hrs and 19:30hrs.

In organising this event, St Helier Yacht Club recognises the long service provided by the RNLI to our local boating community. This will offer an opportunity for us to thank the many locally based volunteers who crew the boats and provide essential support services.
