How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

As the busy part of the season arrives on a whim and a bit of a silly bet, I decided to do the mile a day may to try and raise some extra money for our local lifeboat station, Being that its one of my favorite charities and also being part of the crew, I thought I'd push the boat out pun intended and do a little extra, so I hope you will help me raise a little extra in my mile a day may for sheerness station.

The plan is to run a mile every day ending the month with a 5k run in our full RNLI kit its heavy bulky and i wont be pretty at the end probably a puddle of red and yellow, a big part of the fund raising go's towards kit for new and old crew and helps provide logistics and support it make it all happen !

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Making headway

Friday 13th Mar
This May I’m taking part in the RNLI Mayday Mile, a month-long challenge to get moving and raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The idea is simple run a mile a day throughout the month while raising funds to support the lifesaving work of RNLI crews and at the end of the month a 5k run in full kit !

I’m really happy to share that so far I’ve raised £280, which is amazing and honestly more than I expected at this stage! Every donation helps support the volunteers who are always ready to launch their lifeboats and save lives at sea.

Living near the coast makes it easy to see just how important the RNLI’s work is. Sheerness it a very busy station the crew heads out in all weather conditions day or night, to help people in trouble on the water and Knowing that the miles I’m running can help support that mission is a huge motivation.

It’s also been great seeing friends and family get behind the challenge with their support and donations.

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far, Your support means a lot and it’s helping make a real difference.

There’s still plenty of the time left, so I’ll be continuing to push the fundraising total even higher. If you’d like to support the RNLI and help me reach my goal, every donation – big or small – makes a difference.

Here’s to many more miles before the end of the month of may!
