I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing the run mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea whilst risking their own lives, all as volunteers.
In 2020 we lost my grandpa, ex navy and MBE who was a long term fundraiser receiving special recognition for all his efforts. With grandma joining him this March, with her too being a huge RNLI supporter, raising money even at her funeral.
So it only seems right that I follow in their footsteps, it may seem like a nothing challenge to some people (well good for you) but for others running is hard. I don't have the concentration, the slow twitch fibres and for all who know me the energy to run every day. But I'm going to give it a good go.
I know times are tough, but anything would be HUGLY appreciated to keep these volunteers going, saving the lives of others because you never know when you or a loved one may need them.
