I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

My decision as to why I’m doing this

Sunday 7th Apr
Firstly hello,

Thank you for popping by. For those of you that know me know fitness isn’t exactly my thing and I’d rather sit at home with a cuppa and watching something on the box.

For those that don’t know me here’s a little bit about me… by day I’m a coach driver for The Spirit of Sussex driving up and down the country and all around the local area of Sussex and loving life on the open road. But on a Tuesday and a Thursday evening and some weekends  I am an Cadet force adult volunteer with the Army cadet force as a Detachment commander helping kids aged 12-18 build life skills and teach them self discipline and how to be a team player as well doing some of the green army stuff too. I’m also engaged to my amazing fiancé Amy who actually showed me this and that I should give it a go so here we are.

Now you may be wondering why I have decided to take on a new challenge? Since I was younger I have always had a fascination and love for the RNLI and what they do and how they do it even to the point that if I lived within the range of a Lifeboat station I would sign up to be crew within a heartbeat but unfortunately I’m just out of the range of my local station’s one being Newhaven and the other Brighton. Recently i saw a good friend of mine complete the Brighton marathon and this inspired me to give this a shot after Amy bringing it to my attention so maybe if this goes well then maybe I can give something more of a challenge a go….. well that is a maybe not quite ready for a marathon just yet but this is a good starting point.

Anyway that’s basically it. Anything you can give to help the crews would be very much appreciated not just by me but by all the volunteers who do risk it all for us 24/7 365

Thank you again and I’ll see you throughout with some updates
