Help power RNLI lifesavers
As a number of you may know I am a keen supporter for the RNLI. Particularly since my dad passed away in 2014 suddenly. I support in memory of my dad in many ways including collecting the station named pin badges, adding Dad's name to the new Whitby Shannon Class Lifeboat (Whitby because dad used to go there with my uncle and friends for weekends :-)) Plus in lockdown I made a teddy called Rhona, which I auctioned with all proceeds going to RNLI.
My dad nearly drowned in the sea when he was younger and although was not saved by a lifeboat he loved the RNLI for what they do to help those in trouble on and around the water. He did not learn how to swim until he was about 21.
When the RNLI put out that they were doing Garden Parties I thought it might be good to give it a go. With the help of my youngest son and his friends, we are planning a Garden Party over the bank holiday weekend in August.
