Taking on the Reindeer Run challenge for RNLI lifesavers

RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Target Achieved

24 miles Done!
Finished out with ky work colleagues on the annual Christmas 10km from the office. Although I had an extra little bit to do, so was able to hit out on my own for an extra mile before I hit for home.

Great to have the milestone hit early and hopefully keep it up for the rest of the month

Run #3 - 14th Dec

Sunday 14th Dec
I swore I would never run a step farther than 10k ... well I suppose it's worth breaking that promise to myself, for a good cause! ~10.5km today ... even after a cheat weekend, featuring copious amounts of Papa Johns and a Sunday roast

Day 7 - Run #2 Done!

Sunday 7th Dec
Another 5 miles under the belt. Tougher today, getting harder to find spells of weather to make the run a little but nicer, but that's not what this is about.
Hopefully that's the winter bug kicked now and no more delays hitting the target well in advance of Turkey & Ham day!

Day 1 - Run Done!

Monday 1st Dec
1st Dec, first contribution complete. 5 miles clocked towards the 24 mile target.
Happy with that considering an injury lay-off for the last couple of months.
Also, when you're used to.running in km, a mile seems like a VERY long distance!

Feeling good after run #1
