Getting Started

What is RNLI 200 All Hands on Deck?

add remove

In 2024, the RNLI will have been saving lives for 200 years, and we’re inviting sailing clubs to celebrate with us. To mark this amazing milestone, we hope your club will enjoy creating an All Hands on Deck event while fundraising for the RNLI.

How can I get involved?

add remove

Organise a yacht or dinghy race, link up with other clubs for a joint event, or plan a family day with a picnic or barbecue – it’s entirely up to you. All we ask is that you show your support for lifeboat crews and our drowning prevention work by raising lifesaving funds, so we can be there for generations of sailors to come. Help us save every one by joining us to celebrate 200 years and counting.

Can we dedicate one of our existing club events to the RNLI?

add remove

You can dedicate an existing event in your 2024 calendar to the RNLI, or set up a new event.

Who can sign up to host an All Hands on Deck event?

add remove

We’re asking sailing clubs to host an event that will raise vital funds to power our lifesavers.

How will you spend the money raised?

add remove

All Hands on Deck is an unrestricted fundraising campaign, which means that all of the money raised will go into the RNLI’s general funds. These funds will be used wherever the need is greatest. This could include helping to provide equipment, training, or support to our lifesavers.

Can I donate to my local lifeboat station through this campaign?

add remove

The funds raised through the All Hands on Deck campaign are unrestricted, which means they will go into the RNLI’s general funds for use wherever the need is greatest. If you wish to donate specifically to your local lifeboat station, please contact our Supporter Experience Team on 0300 300 9990 (from the UK) or 01 511 9834 (from Ireland).

When can we host our All Hands on Deck event?

add remove

We’re asking sailing clubs to host an event during 2024 to fundraise for the RNLI and help us celebrate 200 years of lifesaving.

I don’t want to host an event – is there another way I can support the RNLI?

add remove

We’d love for you to join us in celebrating 200 years of saving lives at sea and appreciate any support you can give.

If hosting an event isn’t for you, you can hold a collection or make a donation to our All Hands on Deck campaign. Any amount you’re able to give will power RNLI lifesavers as they answer the call to save every one.
