Turn your chippy tea into saving lives at sea

There are many ways that you can take part in the RNLI Fish Friday. You could organise a takeaway on the beach, host a barbecue, buy in battered fish and oven chips from the supermarket, or cook something at home and host a dinner. The money you raise will power our brave volunteers, who selflessly put their lives on the line to save those in trouble on the water.

Your RNLI Fish Friday will help RNLI crews save lives

In August, the weather is warmer, and the coasts of the UK and Ireland are far busier. That means even more desperate calls for help. But RNLI crews can’t answer them without your support.

Your RNLI Fish Friday will make sure the volunteers are always ready to race to the rescue, so they can get to people in trouble on the water as quickly as possible – and save more lives.

There are many ways that you can take part in the RNLI Fish Friday. You could organise a takeaway on the beach, host a barbecue, buy in battered fish and oven chips from the supermarket, or cook something at home and host a dinner.

As well as enjoying a tasty fish dish, why not put on an activity to encourage more people to join in on the fun? If you’re heading to the beach with a fish and chips takeaway, you could split into teams for a game of rounders. Or, if you’re having your RNLI Fish Friday at home, host a quiz and find out who in your crew knows the most fishy facts!

When you register, a fundraising page will be automatically created which you can share with your friends and family. You’ll also be able to download your free Fundraising Guide which has more inspiration.

You decide when and where you want to hold your RNLI Fish Friday. Decide what you’re going to do for your RNLI Fish Friday, whether that be tucking into a chippy tea on the beach or putting on a fishy feast at a garden barbecue. If necessary, consider a backup plan of where (and how) you’ll host your RNLI Fish Friday in case the weather – or other circumstances – prevent you from going ahead.
