PRIZE DRAW COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“TERMS AND CONDITIONS”)
1. General
1.1 These Terms and Conditions are applicable to anyone entering the online RNLI Free Prize Draw (the “Prize Draw”) promoted, administered and run by us, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), a charity registered in England and Wales (209603), Scotland (SC037736), the Republic of Ireland (CHY 2678 and 20003326), the Bailiwick of Jersey (14), the Isle of Man (1308 and 006329F), the Bailiwick of Guernsey and Alderney, of West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset, BH15 1HZ (the ”Charity” and “us”).
1.2 By entering the Prize Draw you (“You”, the “Entrant”) expressly accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. If You do not want to accept the Terms and Conditions, You should not enter the Prize Draw.
1.3 The Charity reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the Prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
1.4 The decision of the Charity regarding any aspect of the Prize and the Prize Draw is final and binding and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into about it.
2. Prize Draw
2.1 The Prize Draw is promoted and run by the Charity.
2.2 The Prize Draw is free to enter. There is no obligation to make a donation to be eligible for entry.
3. Eligible Entrants
3.1 You must be a resident of either: UK, Ireland, Isle of Man or Channel Islands; and
3.2 All entrants must be 18 years old or over; and
3.3 In entering the Prize Draw, You confirm that You are eligible to lawfully enter the Prize Draw and to claim the Prize. The Charity may require You to provide proof that You are eligible to enter the Prize Draw; and
3.4 Employees of the Charity who are directly involved in running the Prize Draw cannot enter into the Prize Draw.
4. Prize
4.1 Subject to these Terms and Conditions, the winner of the Prize Draw will receive the “Prize” defined as follows:
4.1.1. A cruise for two guests in an ocean view cabin aboard Fred Olsen’s Balmoral’s seven-night L2509 ‘Wildlife & Culture of the Scenic Scottish Isles’ cruise, departing from Southampton on 16th May 2025. Some of the attractions will include:
a. Exploration of the Scottish islands of Stornoway and Kirkwall
b. Uncovering traditions like Ceilidh dancing, cheese, fudge, and whisky
c. Scenic cruise past the intriguing basalt columns of Fingals Cave

4.2 The Prize is provided by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines (“Prize Giver”) and each part of the prize is subject to the Prize Giver’s terms and conditions as outlined below. As such, the Charity accepts no responsibility for those terms and conditions or any part of the Prize itself. 4.2.1 This Prize includes for Balmoral’s seven-night L2509 ‘Wildlife & Culture of the Scenic Scottish Isles’ cruise, departing from Southampton on 16th May 2025 for two adults.
The Prize is on a cruise only basis and does not include transport to the port.
4.2.2 The Prize does not include any additional expenses such as parking at port.
4.2.3 A gratuity of £5 per person, per day, will be added to the onboard account and must be settled at the end of the cruise. This cannot be removed.
4.2.4 The Prize does not include travel insurance. The winner will be responsible for sourcing their own cruise specific travel insurance, including cancellation or curtailment cover for Covid-19, plus cover for any medical, repatriation and expenses costs as a result of a Covid diagnosis or illness during the cruise, without which they will be unable to board.
4.2.5 The winner must have a full and valid passport, with at least six months’ validity from the last day of the cruise.
4.2.6 This promotional competition is not for resale, is non-refundable and non-transferable and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. No cash/credit refunds can be given under any circumstances and this prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer.
4.2.7 If Fred. Olsen is required to cancel this cruise for any reason, a suitable alternative cruise will be offered.
4.2.8 The winner will be solely responsible for any tax liability incurred as a result of this offer.
4.3 The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
4.4 The description of the Prize is provided by the Prize Giver and the Charity is not responsible for the content, condition, quality or suitability of the Prize or the accuracy of its description.
4.5 Descriptions of the Prize and the Prize itself are provided without a warranty of any kind. In no event shall the Charity (including its employees, affiliates and volunteers) be liable for any claim, demand or damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use by the Entrant of the site, the Prize Draw or their use of a Prize.
4.6 The Charity reserves the right to substitute a Prize with an alternative and equivalent prize in its sole discretion.
5. How to enter
5.1 To enter this prize draw, entrants must fill in this form or enter for free by emailing prizedraw@rnli.org.uk.
5.2 Please note that this is the only method by which to enter the prize draw.
5.3 On completing the Form, you will receive an email confirmation, which will be accepted as proof of receipt of entry to the Prize Draw.
5.4 The entries must be submitted from [09:00 (BST)] on the Opening Date (being 13 January 2025) until midnight (BST) on the Closing Date (being 4 February 2025). All Prize Draw entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
5.5 Only one entry per person can be submitted.
5.6 Entries that do not comply with these Terms and Conditions or which exceed the maximum number of entries will be void and will not be entered into the Prize Draw.
6. How the winner is determined
6.1 All correct entries will be entered into the Prize Draw and the winning entrant will be selected at random by a computer process that produces verifiably random results.
7. Personal data
7.1 The Charity will process your personal data specifically for the purpose of administering the Prize Draw, processing entries, liaising with the Prize Giver, and to contact you at the close of the Prize Draw if you have won, to give full details of your prize, how to arrange or obtain the prize and contacting you in line with the fair processing notice provided at the time of data being provided. 7.2 Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion may be passed on to third-party suppliers for the purposes of fulfilment/ delivery/ arrangement of the prize if necessary.
8. Contacting the winner
8.1 Within 72 hours of the Prize Draw closing, the winner will be contacted by the Charity using the email address or phone number provided by the Entrant.
8.2 If the winner has not responded to accept their prize by Friday 14 February 2025, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the Charity will be entitled to re-draw the winner under the same Terms and Conditions. In these circumstances, the new winner will be notified, and the Prize must be accepted in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
9. Winner announcement
9.1 The Charity may announce the first name and county of a winner on its website, social media, Compass, Horizon and Volunteer Facebook unless You object under paragraph 13.
10. Eligibility checks
10.1 The Charity reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The Charity Ltd may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and a Prize may be withheld unless and until the Charity is satisfied with the verification.
11. Entrant only
11.1 All entries must be made by the entrant themselves and not on behalf of anyone else. Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries, entries by macros or other automated means (including systems which can be programmed to enter), and entries which do not satisfy the requirements of these terms and conditions in full will be disqualified and will not be counted. If it becomes apparent that an entrant is using a computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’, masking their identity by manipulating IP addresses, using see identities other than their own or any other automated means in order to increase that entrant’s entries into the Prize Draw in a way that is not consistent with the spirit of the Prize Draw that entrant’s entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.
12. Lost or Damaged entries
12.1 No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed or as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
13. Publicity
13.1 The Charity may make your entry available on its website or other media and can use your surname or county of residence to announce the Prize Draw winner.
13.2 If You object to your information being published if You win or want to reduce the amount of information published please contact prizedraw@rnli.org.uk.
14. Complaints
14.1 All disputes or complaints relating to the Prize Draw should be referred to the Charity at prizedraw@rnli.org.uk. Please include the details of the Prize Draw, the Charity and the nature of your complaint and we will respond to Your complaint within 14 days of receipt. If your query or complaint relates to a data protection issue, then please email our Data Protection team at data_protection@rnli.org.uk.
15. Limitation of Liability
15.1 Insofar as permitted by law the Charity or its agents will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or an entrant or accept any liability for any loss, damage or personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize or taking part in the Prize Draw except where it is caused by the gross negligence of the Charity or their agents, distributors or employees.
15.2 The Charity acting reasonably reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel or amend the Prize Draw and these Terms and Conditions where it becomes necessary to do so.
15.3 In no event shall the Charity (including their employees, affiliates and volunteers) be liable for any claim, demand or damages arising out of or in any way connected with the Entrant’s use of the site, the Prize Draw or their receipt and use or enjoyment of the Prize.
15.4 The Charity will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit.
16. Variation of Terms
The Charity may vary these Terms and Conditions.
17. Third Party Rights
No person who is not a party to an Agreement shall have any right pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of such Agreement.
18. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law, and the Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
19. Refunds Policy
The Charity does not provide refunds of the donations. Monies are raised for the Charity and go towards the Charity’s purpose. However, where there is a valid complaint and the Charity deems that a refund or part refund is appropriate the Charity will liaise directly with the Entrant. All complaints must be referred to the Charity at prizedraw@rnli.org.uk in the first instance.
20. Shipping Policy
The Prize will be delivered to the winner directly by the Charity.
