Story

Scania (UK) are delighted to partner with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), building upon our existing support of the RNLI’s services.

Did you know?

Since 2013, we have proudly been supplying Scania Power Solutions engines to the RNLI. These engines power some of the RNLI’s vehicles, including the Shannon Class all-weather lifeboat and the Shannon Launch and Recovery System (SLARS).

In celebration of our partnership with the RNLI we visited the RNLI College in Poole to see how they put our engines to the test and ensure they meet the institution’s expectations. Watch our Scania Family | Marine: RNLI video at the bottom of the page to find out more.

About the RNLI

For 200 years, the RNLI has been dedicated to saving lives at sea. Their 24/7 volunteer lifeboat service and seasonal lifeguard patrols rescue those in trouble in the water and provide a reassuring presence along our coasts.

The work of the RNLI doesn’t stop there though, as they also provide education around water safety and staying safe at the beach.

Fact: Since 1824, RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 114,000 lives.

Our commitment to the RNLI

We recognise the importance of the RNLI’s work of keeping people safe at sea, and providing education on water safety and drowning prevention, which is why it’s a privilege to partner with such an organisation.

As a charity, the RNLI depends on donations so it can carry on saving lives and keeping people safe. Throughout our multiyear partnership with the RNLI, we’re committed to raising funds for them to enable them to do this.

Thank you.
