I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers in honour of Shady & dale

Hi, my name is Shaydee-Leigh and I support porthcawl lifeboat station. I am 10 years old, I have some additional needs and find going outside challenging, I get overwhelmed easily and struggle with mobility but i want to challenge myself to raise money in memory of dale and Shady. We had first hand experience of the real life heroics of the lifeboat men and women who did everything to get Shady home to his family from the sea to be laid to rest, searching night and day in their own boats to find him. Our family support Porthcawl RNLI and hope to raise what we can for this wonderful cause.

I won’t pretend this has been easy for S. We have had tears, injurys, meltdowns due to triggers that are out of our control, some days she has done longer walks to compensate for the shorter ones, but it has made every penny she has earned worth it there has been wonderful views and memories made along the way, completing some of it at the Harry Potter studio

Tours was a highlight. We would like to thank everyone that has donated in memory of Shady and dale and we never dreamed to get close to the amount she has raised. I am extremely proud of her and I know the boys would be too!!
