I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Here already?

Sunday 11th May
Well ladies and gentlemen, I have done it. Yes I know, 2 miles over and 20 days clear, of my goal, but that is how much I needed to get this done for the RNLI. Never know, next time, I might even contemplate something more. Thanks for supporting me on the journey.

Steady as she goes.

Thursday 8th May
Well, sorry I have been a bit quiet for a while but I have been walking. Getting there, steady but sure. Hope the dry weather holds a I'll be done before you know it. Thanks for your support and help getting this done.

That was a long, hot day.

Thursday 1st May
Well, started out strong today. 10.66 miles in the first day. Am I hurting? You bet I am, is it worth it? Absolutely, I will do what I can.

The day before it begins.

Wednesday 30th Apr
Well, I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be. The day before the off. It's going to be a challenge no mistake. If you think it is only a mile a day, think again. Yes, it is only a mile a day, but as a disabled person, a mile is more than you realise but because it's for a very worthwhile cause, it's going to be a pleasure.

Nearly time for the off.

Friday 25th Apr
Well, I am training as much as I can. I'm pretty excited to be doing this. I'd really like to do this on a grander scale. Never know, one day perhaps.

Prepared for the off.

Monday 21st Apr
Well, I'm practicing for the walk, by trying to get my poor little feet in condition. With the motivation from my sponsors, I'm utterly determined to get this done. Thank you to everyone who is helping me raise vital funds for a vital service.

Passionate about the RNLI

Monday 14th Apr
Well, what can I possibly say? Well, I have always had a special place in my heart for the RNLI and it was cemented firmly, from my time in Devon. Now I feel like it's time to give something back to the Lifeboats.

Thank you to my Sponsors
