I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Why me?

Saturday 27th Apr
When I was a youngster my Nan & Grandad lived in a coastal village on the Isle of Wight.
I used to hear the loud bangs of the Maroons at all hours & I knew that someone was in trouble, I also realised that this meant that a very dedicated, special group of people would drop everything they were doing & dash off to answer that call.
I understood how important this was at the tender age of just 8 years old.   What I did not know was that these selfless people were all volunteers.

Fast forward a few light years & I have such fond memories of my days visiting at the lifeboat station in Bembridge, that now I feel compelled to help whenever I can.
Although I am settled well & truly inland, & you may feel that this fundraising is not important as we are at least an hour away from any coast, we are regular visitors to the seaside and the RNLI have 5 branches covering some of our most beautiful lakes.

You may never need help from these folks & I pray you don’t, however isn’t it comforting to know they are there.  Just a little appreciation with a donation will help ensure they can continue.

So, I have roped Ethan into my little challenge - just 1 mile to walk/run or in my case limp, every day in May.

Kindly sponsor us if you are able.  I would love to show Ethan that we can achieve big things when we work together and have dedication.

Thank you 🙏
