Taking on the Reindeer Run Challenge for RNLI lifesavers
RNLI supporters around the country will be donning their antlers and strapping up their hooves to run 24 miles – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.
Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.
Reindeer Runners will be raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if you could sponsor me.

Why I'm Running the RNLI Reindeer Run
Friday 8th NovAs a Merchant Navy cadet, I’m constantly surrounded by the call of the sea and the challenges that come with training for life on the waves. But this time of year brings a special opportunity to step away from our usual routine and support a cause close to the maritime community: the RNLI Reindeer Run.
The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) does crucial work, tirelessly dedicated to saving lives at sea. Participating in their Reindeer Run combines fitness, festive fun, and fundraising for an organization that many of us in the Merchant Navy hold in high regard.
Joining a fellow cadet in this event is more than just a fun run—it’s a way to contribute to the mission of those who stand ready to help mariners in need.
This year, I’m proud to lace up and run with a fellow cadet, embracing the holiday spirit and supporting the RNLI’s invaluable work.
