Cycling 50 miles from Sandsend to Flamborough Head

By Bethany Baxter

I’m fundraising for the RNLI to help power brave lifesavers to the rescue

Those that know my dad, will know that he suddenly passed away in January 2026, you’ll also know that he loved the East Coast and the RNLI, from watching ‘Saving Lives At Sea’ to chasing the response cars up to Sandsend whilst we were on holiday. His name is on the lifeboat stationed in Swanage as part of the RNLI ‘Launch a Memory’. Myself and Will are cycling 55 miles from Sandsend Beach to Mr. Moo’s Icecream Parlour in Driffield in memory of my dad on his 62nd birthday.

Every day, around the coasts of the UK and Ireland, RNLI volunteers are kitting up to answer desperate calls for help. But they can’t launch to the rescue without support. The RNLI relies on donations to fund the kit and training volunteers need to save lives at sea and return safely home. I’m fundraising to help them stay ready to rescue.
