I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

June Extension

Tuesday 14th May
Hi Dear Friends,

I am having to pause my mile a day while recovering from an unexpected injury - I'm ok but just need to put health first. I'll be adding my missed days on to June to still complete the challenge!

About

Tuesday 9th Apr
Hi everyone!

My name is Brittanie and I have CP this means that walking is a challenge for me and gravity is a frequent foe. I am nervous to say the least but also excited... I'm excitivous... Yes this is a word now.

I am however taking on the Mayday Mile to support RNLI. Im not gonna lie this is gonna be interesting and I have no idea what to expect BUT I will go out everyday and do my level best. My body may not let me do a mile everyday so anything I don't do will get added to the next day and if I end up going into June that's what I'll have to do! But sincerely aiming for all 31 miles to be done in May. I have never been able to take part in anything like this.

I used to be able to do almost two miles a day to and from work but my mobility has declined this past year waiting for surgery amongst other things. It's completely safe for me to be trying this now and a great way to try and build back some stamina for my own physical and mental health and it doesn't get better than getting to do that while aiming to help RNLI.

Thank you for visiting my page. I will post daily updates when we get into May!
