How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

RNLI Walk

Monday 16th Mar
Yoooo, so basically I'm trying to raise some money for the RNLI. Every year in Barmouth theres always at least one idiot who goes out into the sea who either has no clue about water safety, just doesnt care, or genuinely believes it doesn't matter and they'll be fine. This ignorance unfortunately often costs lives, and always costs money, approximately £2,200 PER CALL OUT and I don't know if you're aware but the RNLI, like the air ambulance, is not funded by the government. There was a deal between the government and the RNLI however this ended 157 years ago in 1869, since then it has relied on supporters, volunteers, and fundraising events etc. We all know that especially here on the coast of Wales the RNLI is essential, if you've ever known a worker or volunteer for this organisation then you'll know how hard they work and how dedicated they are to saving lives and helping others. You've all met Beth and I imagine most of you know her father has played a key role for years in the Barmouth branch of the RNLI, this means I have been able to see just some of the commitment and dedication that is put into this job. Always a pager on his person and always ready to rush off as soon as it goes off no matter the time of day, could be 3pm or 3am it makes no difference. If it were not for people like Rob Williams we'd be seeing many, many more tragic articles in the local news outlets of drownings and deaths at sea. Surely you can see the importance of the RNLI and the necessity of donations and fundraising events, I'm hoping that is enough to convince you to either donate to my page or join me and raise money yourself.
