How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

MayDay Mile Round Two - Day Seven

Friday 8th May
Already a week in!

So far I have raised £160 + gift aid and walked 36 miles (as well as working a full time week😅)

Just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to those who have donated, supported and cheered me on. I couldn’t do it without you!

I have mostly walked on the beach and around Redcar. I visited the Zetland Museum and Heritage Centre which houses the world’s oldest existing lifeboat and a plethora of local knowledge. It’s a must visit if you’re in the area. Today I walked to Marske and back, taking in the valley gardens, fishing boats and the incoming storm clouds - thankfully getting back before the rain started.

I am throughly enjoying being back out walking and exploring the local area, all whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.

Let’s see where my legs take me next week!

Mayday Mile Round Two - Day Four

Monday 4th May
Only 2 miles round the block tonight after a very manic bank holiday monday at work. Knee is really starting to hurt but my legs are getting used to this again. Day off tomorrow so let’s see where i end up 😂

Mayday Mile Round Two - Day Three

Sunday 3rd May
Today was a wet and miserable one. Managed two miles in the pouring rain along the coast before work. Watched our Redcar crew do a practise launch too. I always feel a sense of pride when I see them, what wonderful people they are! They are the reason i’m doing this. Rain or shine they train and launch to save random strangers 365 days a year.

Well Done and Thank You Crew

Mayday Mile Round Two - Day Two

Saturday 2nd May
Only a 5 mile walk today before my 5.5 hour shift. Leggies are hurty but i’m really enjoying walking again.

Had a man come up to me along the coast road and told me he had crabs! before revealing a bag full of the little creatures! it always happens to me😂

Round Two - Day One

Friday 1st May

From what was going to be a quick walk to town on my day off turned into 20283 steps and just over 10 miles later, day one is completed.

of course me being me means I don’t do things by halves😂

I stopped off at Zetland Lifeboat Museum and Redcar Heritage Centre on my way home to see the world’s oldest existing lifeboat. The RNLI have come such a long way and it’s through generosity of strangers that have helped fund them to improve what they need to be able to save as many lives at sea as possible.

Thank You to all those who have donated and sent encouragement. There is still plenty time to donate💙💛

A Week To Go!!💙

Friday 24th Apr
One week until I’ll be stepping out and walking at least 31 miles (although knowing me it will be a lot more!) raising money for a fantastic cause!

Mayday Mile Round Two!

Monday 2nd Mar
We’re back and raring to go!

I am taking on the Mayday Mile for the second year in a row. As most of those who read this will know the RNLI are a fantastic charity very close to my heart. Across our nation, complete strangers are risking their lives saving others at sea.

Last year I completed 122 miles raising £421. I am beyond grateful to everybody who donated, joined me, cheered me on.

As always, i will be very thankful for those who will join me on this mission to raise as much as possible for the RNLI. Whether it’s through donation, walking with me or simply just sharing the fundraising/ posts to raise awareness.

Thank You for reading and see you out there!

💙💛
