I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Day #8

Thursday 9th May
It was my birthday yesterday (08/05) and we went out for a meal to celebrate. After our meal we decided to have a walk along our pier and back and then along the seafront to complete the mile .

Day #7 - a walk before I start work

Tuesday 7th May
RNLI Mayday Mile Day 7… Well I’m a week in and today before I started work (I got in early), I went for a walk around Eastbourne seafront & town. And what a lovely sunny day it is today.
I walked from our staff restroom to Eastbourne RNLI museum & shop, along to the pier, then to Superdrug and then back to our staff restroom. Totalling just over one and a half miles - all in just over half an hour!

Mayday Mile day #6

Monday 6th May
Went and did my Mayday Mile again with my wife this evening. Went for a walk along the seafront of our neighbouring town of Bexhill.

Mayday Mile day #5

Sunday 5th May
Just the one mile walk tonight around my local area. However my wife came with me on this evenings walk.

Day #4

Saturday 4th May
Just a little walk around my local area. 2 miles in just under an hour

Day #3 - went for a cycle

Friday 3rd May
Tonight I Went for a cycle ride around my local park instead of a walk . Just over 2.5 miles in just under an hour!

Day #2

Thursday 2nd May
In my head I had a cycle ride to do after I had dropped my mrs off for her night shift. However she was still asleep when I finished work this afternoon . Rather than waking her up to come and collect me I chose to simply walk home. 3 miles in just over an hour.
I’ll get the cycle out tomorrow - I’m not at work tomorrow!

1st mile / 1st Day completed

Thursday 2nd May
Did the first mile last night after work. Went from Hastings Lifeboat station to Hastings pier and back. 2 miles in total
