I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Day 13

Tuesday 13th May
Day 13 - been busy 🐝 day , went out with bestie 👭🏼for coffee ☕️ and basque cheesecake 🍰 and walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ round the shops 🏬 too hot 🥵 to go for my Mayday mile. Went off to rehab exercise 🧘🏼‍♀️class last one today🎉. Then picked up in the car 🚗 by hubby🧍🏻‍♂️went to Bewiched for a cold drink 🥤and then off to the park 🌳🌲for today’s mile, blue skies hot 🔥on the pavement so walked 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️through the woods 🌳🌳 and the rough fields much more harder 🪨 going on the feet 🦶 but more shade⛱️.  Job done 👍🏻 for today. Time to relax ☺️

Day 12

Monday 12th May
Day 12 - ok so it was decided to stop 🛑 at the park 🌳🌲 on the way home 🏡 in case it thunderstorms ⛈️ later on. Still quite warm but pleasant to walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ around thankfully. No sign of rain 🌧️ until I was finished and we were driving 🚗 home 🏡 just a small sprinkle 🌦️ whilst in the car  🚘  and then the sun 🌞 came out again 😁.

Day 11

Sunday 11th May
Day 11 - been to a garden centre this afternoon, bought some orange French marigolds 🌼 good for bees 🐝 and good for deterring pests 🪲 , so they say and of course they are edible 🍴too a great win 🏆 all around. Stopped at the park 🌳 on way home to do my mile walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ for today , a little warm 🌤️ but plenty of shade around, a lovely walk.

Day 9 &10

Saturday 10th May
Day 9 of Mayday mile , went out for a late walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ discovered some new roads 🛣️ I hadn’t been down before, good job 👍🏻 I’ve got maps on my phone 📱 saved me getting lost 🤭. Day 10 - lawn needed mowing so it’s harder work and takes longer than a walk as the grass is so uneven but did my mile doing it, job well done 👍🏻🎉 lawn looks much better 🏡😁

Day 8

Thursday 8th May
Day 8 of the Mayday mile - I know this is becoming a bit of a trend, but it was someone’s birthday 🎈 🎂 so we had to eat 🍽️ out. For those that know me well, you will be surprised 😳 or dare I even say shocked 🤯 that I didn’t have a dessert 🍨. Beached whale 🏝️ 🐳 comes to mind. The large glass of wine 🍷 I drank was enough 🤭.  The old pins were a little achy tonight maybe I should have had one more glass🍷 😂. The walk back was a little shorter than I thought so walked 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ twice round the front garden🏡 to make sure I did my mile 👍🏻.

Day 7

Wednesday 7th May
Day 7 of the Mayday mile -  left my mile until later. it’s dusk 🌆 hardly anyone around and considering the road 🛣️ I’m walking on 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️is usually very busy during the day hardly a car 🚗 goes by - peaceful ☺️. Now I know what your all thinking 🤔 , yes I’ve been out for coffee ☕️ and cake 🍰 this afternoon at the local garden centre 🌻 - passion fruit and white chocolate - it was scrumptious 😋 😂

Day 6

Tuesday 6th May
🎉Day 6 of my Mayday mile - went to the local park today with bestie 👭🏼. It was a lovely walk🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️a few people out walking their dogs 🐕 🐩. The route ➡️ also took us through a pretty wooded path 🌳🌲🌳  before we knew it the mile was done 👍🏻 😁. Inspired by nature 🌿went to the local garden centre had coffee and cake 🍰  🤭and then wandered around admiring the plants 🪴.

Day 5

Monday 5th May
Day 5 of Mayday mile. Just been out for a lovely lunch 🍽️ 🍷 (5 courses 🤪) with mum & hubby. Then off for my  mile walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ down past the woods 🌳🌳 to blow 🌬️🍃the cobwebs 🕸️ away. 😁

Day 4

Sunday 4th May
Day 4 of Mayday mile - went for a late lunch with hubby👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻, coffee ☕️with a mozzarella & tomato toasted ciabatta sandwich 🥪 😋 . Then the mile walk home 🏡  working off the sandwich and trying to get home before any rain 🌧️ came down - managed it - 😮‍💨 yay 🎉

Day 3

Saturday 3rd May
Day 3 of Mayday Mile 🎉. Out for a walk today with bestie Sal 👭🏼for  today’s Mayday mile. Stopped at a bench for a quick photo op 📸 and then on to the coffee shop for a quick coffee ☕️ and a relaxing catchup before walking back home 🏡.

2nd Day

Friday 2nd May
2nd Day🌞🎉. Quick stop on way home at Bewiched. Milkshake treat , fully hydrated and energized before walking 🚶🏼‍♀️my mile for today 😁.

1st walk

Thursday 1st May
1st walk, yay 🥳 🎉, was too hot 🥵 to go out earlier, went out a bit later when it had gone a little dark but then got a bit soaked but it was lovely walking 🚶🏼‍♀️ in the rain 🌧️ and cooling off.
