I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Day 26

Monday 26th May
Day 26 - Weather 🌦️ not so great today. Park 🌳🌲was practically deserted. Didn’t make it round 🔄 without being drizzled  🌧️ on but at least it was short. Did my mile walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ for the day 🎉. Then back in the car 🚗 and headed for home 🏡

Day 25

Sunday 25th May
Day 25 - went later to the park 🌳🌲tonight, sun ☀️ still shining with a few dark clouds ☁️ around. Fast time tonight with a good pace. Mile done 👍🏻 🎉, back in the car 🚗 headed for home 🏡 just as well as just missed a short shower 🌧️

Day 24

Saturday 24th May
Day 24 - a Fab day today, couldn’t decide where we ( Bestie and I 👭🏼)  wanted to go for coffee ☕️ , ended up at the memorial park 🌳🌲. Thought we would kill 🔪two birds 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛with one stone 🪨 so to speak , do my mayday mile and have a coffee ☕️ midway. Briefly paused at the monument to the World Wars. It was also nice to see a proper cricket match 🏏going on. There was lots of people 🧍🏻‍♂️🧍🏾🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️with their dogs 🐕 walking about. Stopped at the park 🌳🌲 bistro🍴 it does an all day breakfast 🥐so we found out 😁,  had a lovely bacon batch 😋 bestie had lovely thick toast and marmalade and of course two lattes☕️☕️. Then back on the walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ round the park 🌳🌲to finish the mile 🎉. Its was lovely to be somewhere different for a change that was so green and beautiful with great company. 😊

Day 23

Friday 23rd May

Day 21

Wednesday 21st May
Day 21 - Busy in the park 🌳🌲tonight couldn’t park the car 🚗 in the parking lot 🅿️, so had to park outside on the road. Lots of kids playing football ⚽️ and a few people walking 🚶🏻‍♂️ their dogs 🐕,  still there was a few quiet spots of tranquility 🧘🏻on the walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ around. Mile done 👍🏻 🎉and back home 🏡 to feed the kitties 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

Day 20

Tuesday 20th May
Day 20 - walked 🚶🏼‍♀️back from shops 🏬 tonight. According to my weather 🌦️ app it was drizzling 🌧️ but couldn’t see anything out the window 🪟 before I left. So thought it might rain ☔️ when im out, decided to put my rain coat 🧥 . It didn’t rain 🙄, was a bit hot when I got back. Day 17 & 18

Sunday 18th May
Day 17 - Went to Yew Tree Farm with bestie 👭🏼 had a lovely lunch 🥪 & purchased some beautiful crafted gifts 🎁 . Came back, went straight up to the park 🌳🌲 to do my mile, a little warm 🌤️ and a lot of people 🧍🏻‍♀️👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏽 about heading for a football ⚽️ game. All done for the day 🎉 dinner 🍽️ and then Eurovision 😍.
Day 18  - potted around the house 🏡 today, doing stuff that needed to be done. Weather cooled off this afternoon, headed up to the park 🌳🌲hardly anyone around, couple of people 🚶🏻‍♂️walking their dogs 🐕‍🦺 only. Mile done 👍🏻 🎉 back home for tea 🍽️ and F1 🏎️ on the TV 📺.

Day 16

Friday 16th May
Day 16 - stopped 🛑 at the park 🌳🌲 on way home 🏡. Walked 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️my mile🎉, little hotter ☀️ round the park 🌳🌲then 1st thought.  Wild winds 🌬️ blowing around some corners, a chance to cool down while still walking 🚶🏼‍♀️. Then back home 🏡 to the kitties 🐈‍⬛ 🐈. 😁

Day 15

Thursday 15th May
Day 15 - Went to Bewiched late this afternoon with hubby 🧍🏻‍♂️, had a coffee ☕️ and chocolate 🍫 twist thingy very nice 😋 but very naughty 😈 . So straight to the park 🌳🌲 after to walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ it off 😆. Thought I might get rained ☔️on , only a few drops 💧luckily before I knew it Job was done 👍🏻 🎉

Day 14

Wednesday 14th May
Day 14 - straight to the park 🌳🌲 from work 💻. No time to stop at the coffee ☕️ shop tonight. Great cool breeze blowing 🌬️ making it a refreshing walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️. Waved to hubby waiting in the car 🚗 when reached the bottom of the football ⚽️ pitch. Mile done a dusted 🎉 and back home 🏡 for tea 🍽️.

Day 13

Tuesday 13th May
Day 13 - been busy 🐝 day , went out with bestie 👭🏼for coffee ☕️ and basque cheesecake 🍰 and walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ round the shops 🏬 too hot 🥵 to go for my Mayday mile. Went off to rehab exercise 🧘🏼‍♀️class last one today🎉. Then picked up in the car 🚗 by hubby🧍🏻‍♂️went to Bewiched for a cold drink 🥤and then off to the park 🌳🌲for today’s mile, blue skies hot 🔥on the pavement so walked 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️through the woods 🌳🌳 and the rough fields much more harder 🪨 going on the feet 🦶 but more shade⛱️.  Job done 👍🏻 for today. Time to relax ☺️

Day 12

Monday 12th May
Day 12 - ok so it was decided to stop 🛑 at the park 🌳🌲 on the way home 🏡 in case it thunderstorms ⛈️ later on. Still quite warm but pleasant to walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ around thankfully. No sign of rain 🌧️ until I was finished and we were driving 🚗 home 🏡 just a small sprinkle 🌦️ whilst in the car  🚘  and then the sun 🌞 came out again 😁.

Day 11

Sunday 11th May
Day 11 - been to a garden centre this afternoon, bought some orange French marigolds 🌼 good for bees 🐝 and good for deterring pests 🪲 , so they say and of course they are edible 🍴too a great win 🏆 all around. Stopped at the park 🌳 on way home to do my mile walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ for today , a little warm 🌤️ but plenty of shade around, a lovely walk.

Day 9 &10

Saturday 10th May
Day 9 of Mayday mile , went out for a late walk 🚶🏼‍♀️ discovered some new roads 🛣️ I hadn’t been down before, good job 👍🏻 I’ve got maps on my phone 📱 saved me getting lost 🤭. Day 10 - lawn needed mowing so it’s harder work and takes longer than a walk as the grass is so uneven but did my mile doing it, job well done 👍🏻🎉 lawn looks much better 🏡😁

Day 8

Thursday 8th May
Day 8 of the Mayday mile - I know this is becoming a bit of a trend, but it was someone’s birthday 🎈 🎂 so we had to eat 🍽️ out. For those that know me well, you will be surprised 😳 or dare I even say shocked 🤯 that I didn’t have a dessert 🍨. Beached whale 🏝️ 🐳 comes to mind. The large glass of wine 🍷 I drank was enough 🤭.  The old pins were a little achy tonight maybe I should have had one more glass🍷 😂. The walk back was a little shorter than I thought so walked 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ twice round the front garden🏡 to make sure I did my mile 👍🏻.

Day 7

Wednesday 7th May
Day 7 of the Mayday mile -  left my mile until later. it’s dusk 🌆 hardly anyone around and considering the road 🛣️ I’m walking on 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️is usually very busy during the day hardly a car 🚗 goes by - peaceful ☺️. Now I know what your all thinking 🤔 , yes I’ve been out for coffee ☕️ and cake 🍰 this afternoon at the local garden centre 🌻 - passion fruit and white chocolate - it was scrumptious 😋 😂

Day 6

Tuesday 6th May
🎉Day 6 of my Mayday mile - went to the local park today with bestie 👭🏼. It was a lovely walk🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️a few people out walking their dogs 🐕 🐩. The route ➡️ also took us through a pretty wooded path 🌳🌲🌳  before we knew it the mile was done 👍🏻 😁. Inspired by nature 🌿went to the local garden centre had coffee and cake 🍰  🤭and then wandered around admiring the plants 🪴.

Day 5

Monday 5th May
Day 5 of Mayday mile. Just been out for a lovely lunch 🍽️ 🍷 (5 courses 🤪) with mum & hubby. Then off for my  mile walk 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️ down past the woods 🌳🌳 to blow 🌬️🍃the cobwebs 🕸️ away. 😁

Day 4

Sunday 4th May
Day 4 of Mayday mile - went for a late lunch with hubby👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻, coffee ☕️with a mozzarella & tomato toasted ciabatta sandwich 🥪 😋 . Then the mile walk home 🏡  working off the sandwich and trying to get home before any rain 🌧️ came down - managed it - 😮‍💨 yay 🎉

Day 3

Saturday 3rd May
Day 3 of Mayday Mile 🎉. Out for a walk today with bestie Sal 👭🏼for  today’s Mayday mile. Stopped at a bench for a quick photo op 📸 and then on to the coffee shop for a quick coffee ☕️ and a relaxing catchup before walking back home 🏡.

2nd Day

Friday 2nd May
2nd Day🌞🎉. Quick stop on way home at Bewiched. Milkshake treat , fully hydrated and energized before walking 🚶🏼‍♀️my mile for today 😁.

1st walk

Thursday 1st May
1st walk, yay 🥳 🎉, was too hot 🥵 to go out earlier, went out a bit later when it had gone a little dark but then got a bit soaked but it was lovely walking 🚶🏼‍♀️ in the rain 🌧️ and cooling off.
