I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I'm completing the mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

I have a long association with Falmouth, in Cornwall, and for many years knew several members of the Lifeboat crew. It still seems to me incredible that there are people who are prepared to drop everything, and rush out to sea, in perilous conditions, sometimes even for days on end, to rescue those in danger, whoever they may be, and whatever the reason for their difficulties …. on a voluntary basis!

As a commuter-cyclist, I am intending to ditch the bike for this, and ensure that my (at least a) mile-a-day will be walked.
