I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I've decided to take on the mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
And I'm going to run!…
Yes, you read that right. I, the guy who gets breathless just turning a corner or tying my laces, am going to run 31 miles in the month of May! The plan is to try to do 1.5km - 2km a day. Keep in mind that at this very moment, I cannot even run 1km!
However, completing this challenge is nothing compared to the incredible work the volunteers at the RNLI do every single day.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer, from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
I plan to raise a minimum of £300, but I hope to raise a lot more if I can!
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Over Halve Way Point!
Saturday 16th May
If you’d told me last year that this year I’d be running a mile or more every day, I probably would’ve laughed and said, “I don’t run, I cycle.”
I did try running last year, but I failed miserably, and with my heart condition and lung issues at the time, it just wasn’t possible.
I put my trainers in storage and thats where they stayed.
A year or so forward, I came across this challenge, and thought I may not have it in me to run for myself, but I will try for charity, and so far I have not failed! Perhaps after this, I will continue to run.
Thankfully, all of that is behind me now. I can finally take deep breaths again, and I’m able to run. Super exciting times.
