I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Friday 22nd May
With only 10 days left to go, Eva has smashed all her goals! She’ll hit 31 miles in the next few days, and all that’s left is to complete her mile-a-day challenge!

Friday 15th May
Day 15 is in the bank — halfway there 💪🌟

Today we changed things up and took a walk down to Holcombe Beach 🌊☀️ The tide was all the way in, the sky was pure blue, and it was one of those magical mornings ✨ Eva absolutely loved it ❤️

20 days to go!

Monday 11th May
20 days left and Eva is going strong. Even after playing 5 football matches on Sunday, Eva went out with Mum and a slightly grumpy Bryn! Tonight we took the mile to the sea front for some fresh salt air! Back to morning miles tomorrow. 

One Week Complete! 🚶‍♀️💛

Thursday 7th May
Seven days in and Eva is still going strong with her Mile a Day in May challenge for the RNLI!
Every morning she’s been waking up at 5:55am to head out on our 1.2-mile countryside route before the day begins. She’s loving listening to the birdsong, spotting wildlife, and seeing which farm animals are waiting in the fields each morning 🐦🐑🐄
The early starts haven’t slowed her down at all, and she’s enjoying every mile so far.
One week complete — many more miles to go! 🌊⚓

DAY 1

Friday 1st May
Eva and Dad headed out at 6:14am for the first mile!
A lovely morning with a light drizzle created some fantastic early summer smells. We headed into the countryside, spotting great tits, chiffchaffs, and lots of bunnies in the field 🐦🐰
Eva was surprised by how many people we met out walking at that time of day.

Sunday 26th Apr
Eva is back raising money for her favourite organisation, the RNLI! This will be her third Mile a Day in May fundraiser, and she’s hoping to beat her previous fundraising achievements.
When she’s not playing football, swimming, practising piano or at Brownies, she’s coming up with fundraising ideas for the RNLI — from family quiz nights to stair climb challenges — and she loves dropping off her collections to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution station in Teignmouth.
It’s going to be another fun and fit May!
