I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I will be completing at least one mile a day to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
Why the RNLI? My grandfather, who lived in Clacton-on-Sea, was part of an RNLI crew. Sadly, I never met him, as he passed away before I was born. Growing up, my mother would always donate to the RNLI, and I remember dropping coins into the boat-shaped collection boxes when I was little.
Although I’ve raised funds for the Air Ambulance several times, I’ve never done so for the RNLI. With it also being my mum’s birthday in May, it felt like the perfect event to take part in.
Some of you may know that I haven’t been in the best of health for the past six months or so due to breathing difficulties - not ideal for walking, and certainly not for running a mile a day!
But… why use two legs when you can use four?! Instead of walking, Donkey (23) and I will be riding the Mayday Mile Challenge.
Any donation, big or small, would be truly appreciated and will help support the RNLI’s life-saving work. If you’re unable to donate at this time, simply sharing our page would mean a great deal and help spread awareness of the incredible work they do.
From Donkey and I,
Thank you.
