I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May from the 1st to the 31st, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

Joining Southend-on-Sea RNLI 12 years ago I have had the honour to be part of such an amazing crew.

So with that said to make this a challenge I will be completing it in full ILB Personal Protective Equipment. Yes that's right, not running shoes and activewear but a drysuit (with the wellies still built in), lifejacket and helmet!

The RNLI covers the UK and Ireland with ordinary men and women volunteering at 238 stations and is there 24/7, 365 days a year ready to face any weather and answer the call of those in danger at sea.

Recently the RNLI celebrated 200 Years of saving lives at sea, in fact more than 144,000 people have been saved.

To continue saving lives at sea the RNLI relies on donations and generosity of the public.

Will you help answer this MayDay call and help the RNLI be there for the next 200 years to continue to save lives at sea.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face any weather.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?
