How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Done but not finished...

Monday 18th May
The milage target has been met, thank you to all of my sponsors for the motivation! I'm not done yet though. 12 days to go and 12 more walks to do...

Walk in the woods with this loony!

Visit to York

Sunday 10th May
Did a mystery guide puzzle walk round York today, with a brief stop off in the Ghost Merchant!

Go Vote!

Thursday 7th May
Got my mile in today walking down to the polling station, dont forget to use your vote!

Tired!

Monday 4th May
A walk on the front at Scarborough and a visit to Alpamare with the boys has done me in.  Luckily I've banked a few extra miles this weekend which could get me out of jail in future. Still aiming to do a mile a day, but you never know!

4 miles and Seals!

Saturday 2nd May
4 miles done today, went for a walk from Flamborough Head to the dozing dinosaur to see the seals just chilling out on the beach. My foot feels like it's being smashed between two lump hammers, but banked some miles!

And we're off!

Friday 1st May
I've started, so I'll finish!

Hello everyone. Mile 1 is done and in the bag.

After finding out that all the exhaustion and dizziness I was feeling recently was being caused by the anti-gout meds I'd been given,  I've been told to stop taking them. And after spending the last three days in bed as a barely functional human, I'm starting to feel better, but it's also causing the gout to flare up... Yay, just what I need!

Anyway, thank you so much to all my past (and future?) sponsors, you've helped me hit my fundraising target and as I said at the beginning...

I've started, so I'll finish...

Woo!

Monday 13th Apr
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, you're all giving the motivation needed to drag my gouty body out on this challenge! It may not be massive for some, but some days I'm finding it hard to even walk at the moment, so I'm going to have to push through it and raise as much as I can.

Thank you to my Sponsors
