How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

One mile more!

Saturday 30th May
I still can't believe myself when I say this, but I've only got one more mile left to run! Even though it's sometimes been hard and even when the easiest thing to do seemed to be to give up, I have kept on going and have finally made it! I'm so lucky to be surrounded by friends and family who have supported me every step of the way (no pun intended) and I definitely would not have been able to do it without them. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated - the help it will give to the RNLI is limitless and I'm so glad to be a part of it (a statement which I realise is often repeated, but couldn't be more true!). Whilst doing it, I have really pushed myself to the limit and achieved a personal best - of which I am very proud, and also had lots of fun (including running down a hill in walking boots whilst looking over the sea). I have met some wonderful people, including those at Criccieth and Abersoch RNLI stations (pictured above) and all in all have had a lovely time. However, there is still time to donate - remember, every penny donated goes towards saving lives at sea. Have a beautiful day. I can't wait for tomorrow...

A mile of marvellous music:

Thursday 14th May
I have really enjoyed today's mile (something which before now I would never have thought could happen). It was all down to the wonderfully motivational song by one of my favourite bands which in fact all about the RNLI! So I just wanted to say thank you so much for the song that kept me going - it even helped me achieve one of my personal bests!

So close!

Wednesday 13th May
I can't believe that we have almost reached the halfway point in this Mayday mile! Despite the challenges, I have loved every second and I am so proud of myself for making it this far. But my achievements are nothing to those tireless volunteers who brave their lives to help save others who are in difficulty at sea. I am so lucky to have this opportunity to help support them and can't wait for the next 18 miles! We are so close to reaching our fundraising target! RNLI lifesavers rely on the kindness of people like you to help provide them with everything they need - remember all donations help equip volunteers with the lifeboats, lifeboat stations and rescue equipment they need to save lives quickly, safely and efficiently. So, will you be the one to help us reach our target? Will you help the RNLI save lives this summer?
PS: Here is a photo of when we went to visit the amazing volunteers at Tenby lifeboat station...

27 days to go!

I felt so lucky this evening to be running in such lovely weather! I hope that everyone else has had a lovely day and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine!
