I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

8 days in still not thin

Thursday 8th May
Good afternoon all,

Quick update, still very much on target - 1 mile a day is not breaking me.  I am just grateful to the backers I have and for the continuing work of the RNLI.

Keeping us safe, even on the River Thames.

Get moving all

One day down

Friday 2nd May
It seems, as with so many things in Life, this challenge has suddenly arrived.  For me, a chance to finally get in some walking.  Threatening for years that I 'just' need to do something.  Well, thank you, RNLI, not only for the heroic daily effort you deliver but for getting me off my chair.

Thank you to my Sponsors

Narrowly missed calling out the RNLI inside Dart harbour last month when I ran aground on an ebbing tide (Dart harbour saved some embarrassment for me by hauling me out of the mud ) RNLI member and huge fan of their work!
