How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

The Coastal Life

Tuesday 21st Apr
So the girl is on a health kick, and what better way to start it than to raise some funds for the RNLI.
Why I’m Now Supporting the RNLI
Since moving closer to the sea, something has quietly shifted in my day-to-day life. The coastline isn’t just a place for fresh air or a nice view anymore—it’s become part of my surroundings, my routine, and my sense of home.
With that comes a new awareness.
Living near the water, it’s impossible not to notice how vital the work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution really is. Whether it’s the lifeboats heading out in rough conditions or the quiet reassurance that help is always nearby, their presence feels much more real—and much more important—than it ever did before.
The sea is beautiful, but it’s also unpredictable. It doesn’t take much for a normal day to turn into an emergency, and that’s where the RNLI steps in. Their crews are out in all conditions, often volunteering their time, to keep people safe. That’s something I’ve come to deeply respect since being closer to the coast.
Because of this, I’ve decided to focus more of my fundraising efforts on supporting the RNLI. It feels like a cause that’s directly connected to my community now—one that protects not just visitors, but the people who live and work here too.
Supporting them isn’t just about donating; it’s about recognising the role they play in coastal life and helping ensure they can continue to do what they do best.
If you’re ever by the sea, take a moment to think about the people behind the lifeboats. They’re always ready, even when we don’t realise we might need them.
