I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea. (Also registered for the Christian Aid 70km in May challenge, to run concurrently - but not sure how I'll manage the dual fundraising) My current target is 200km = 125 miles
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

I don't think I'll now provide the full daily details - just totals so far, with 5 days to go
I've walked &/or cycled every day of May except last Wednesday 22 May, when I wimped out because of heavy rain - I'd planned to cycle to Headington for a Barton community meeting and OCMS steward duty and thence straight to the Vue cinema for a ROH live Royal Ballet streaming - but I did it all in the car
at the end of today's 30.20 mile day, I've 47 miles left, to include at least 5 miles for the RNLI Mayday mile a day
total achieved so far : cycled 232.28 miles, walked 32.51 = 264.79
ShareMay 10th to 14th
Tuesday 14th May Friday 10 - just about a mile's walkMay 9th on the Gower peninsula
Friday 10th Mayup to May 8th
Wednesday 8th May7.50 miles walked = 89.47 miles total = 143.99 km

May 2nd - 5th
Sunday 5th May May 2nd cycled 25.21 milesMay 1st
Wednesday 1st May day 1 - only on the bike - straight to a Governors meeting at St. Francis CE Primary School and then a longer route back on a Street Tag powerhour - although only for 45 minutes - 8.95 miles = 14.4 km. I'd intended going into Oxford for May Morning and walking round town, but regret the body wasn't willing at 04.30 ShareThank you to my Sponsors
