I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

In April 2022, my father-in-law tragically lost his life in a sailing accident. For over thirty years, he dedicated his life to sailing, from competing competitively, to training for the Finn Championships in Helsinki, and working abroad on super yachts as a Chief Engineer.

These donations support the brave volunteers who make a real difference across the UK. The RNLI's vital work ensures safety at sea and reunites families. As a family personally affected by the loss of a loved one at sea, we're inspired by the workers efforts and proud to work towards such a worthy cause.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Day one: Mayday Mile Challenge

Wednesday 1st May
Hey there!

To kickstart this journey and bring attention to the vital work of the RNLI, I've taken on the Mayday Mile challenge. This challenge not only allows me to push my physical boundaries but also serves as a platform to highlight the incredible efforts of the RNLI in saving lives at sea.

This next month will be the start of my journey and is allowing me to train for the Manchester Marathon next year while raising funds for the RNLI, a charity that holds great significance to me and my family.

But there's more to this journey than just running.

Two years ago, my father-in-law tragically lost his life at sea. Running in his honour, I'm determined to support the RNLI and ensuring that others receive the help they desperately need.

So, how's my training going? Well, I'm happy to say that I've clocked in some long mileage lately. Each day I feel more determined to make a difference. Whether it's a brisk morning run or a  evening jog with my dog, every step brings me closer to my goal - both in terms of fitness and fundraising.

Thanks for reading! Please stay tuned for more updates on my Mayday Mile Challenge and fundraising efforts.
