I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

3 miles at Highgate

Friday 23rd May
We've made it!  With a couple of miles to spare😀.  I've enjoyed all the walks & the dogs have loved every minute.  But the best bit is the funds raised.  I just want to say a huge thank you all for your donations. I'm truly grateful!

Highgate Common today

Tuesday 20th May
Highgate is a great place to go right now for the shade under the trees.  There are other places with great woodland walks but I have to consider travel time in the heat for the dogs.  Baggeridge is a lot closer to home but Charlie has introduced Woodie to the joys of muddy water & there is a lot at Baggs so they have to stay on their leads!  You'd think Woods would know better at his age but apparently not. He's embracing this new pass time fervently. Yey😭

Another beautiful day for a walk

Friday 16th May
2.5 miles for me today at Highgate.   The dogs definitely do twice as much each.  They met met more new friends too which always makes it a better trip😁

Highgate Common today

Wednesday 14th May
A lovely walk (or mad run if you're a do) through the woods today.  Now have two happy sleepy dogs.   Happy days

Highgate

Saturday 10th May
A trip to Highgate Common this morning where I walked a mile & the boys had a great time racing each other back and forth. 😁

Merry Hill Shopping centre

Thursday 8th May
The dogs & I walked around the park this morning. Then this afternoon due to an eye test I walked around Merry Hill Shopping centre. It's surprising how quickly we can clock up the miles!

Baggeridge Country Park

Tuesday 6th May
A great walk from the carpark to Himley Hall where we stopped for a drink & treats for the dogs then back to the car the long way.  It's incredible how it feels like you are miles away from everything in the dappled shade provided by the trees.

Dogs had a great time at Highgate Common today

Monday 5th May
The official milage was 2942.8 so I've booked 3 miles.  The dogs definitely covered  at least twice that each.   By the end of the month maybe I'll be able to do the same 🤫

Thanks everyone who's sponsored me so far!

Thursday 1st May
Thanks to everyone who's sponsored me so far. The dogs have convinced me to increase the target for the fund.  So we're aiming for £200 now & I'm keeping my fingers crossed ☺️

The first 2.3 miles are complete as we walked part of Malmesbury this morning before it got too hot. Have to start as we mean to go on. 😁

Why am I doing this?

Wednesday 30th Apr
Because it's a good cause, saving many lives every year.  The volunteers give their time freely so this a small way to say thank you & support the risks they take.

I need a challenge to keep my feet firmly on the ground & build some much needed confidence.

And my two furry pals will love taking part in the challenge too so watch this space. ☺️

Thank you to my Sponsors
