I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Half way

Sunday 19th May
Just over half way through May, and my legs are feeling it! I think I might need to stretch more.
It’s definitely a challenge, but more of a mental challenge. Trying to get out at the weekends is the hardest but 3/4 weekends done and will hopefully be making weekend running a habit with my niece.

Day 1 down!

Wednesday 1st May
After a long day at work, mostly in a cancer clinic, the last thing I wanted to do was run a mile, but I’ve done it, and just as well because I would have missed the tube if I walked 😂.

Day -1

Tuesday 30th Apr
I’m slightly apprehensive about running (or even walking) a mile a day. Most days I do 4-5 miles walking as part of my commute and lunchtime walk but at weekends and days off I really struggle to do anything substantial, so this will be my biggest challenge.
So, I’m aiming for running at least a mile a day; let’s see how I get on!
