I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

The sun has got his hat on
Friday 15th May Seeing the sun out for most of the day is great. Carnt wait to walk around with no coat on. I don't know about anyone else but the walk are both a good break from the news, and work. Also Im discovering areas around my home Ive not seen in years or haven't seen at all. I have every intention of keeping up the walking after this event.
Is it going to be summer yet?
Sunday 10th May It’s still cold and breezy out there, A little more summer would be welcome. Although the Hawthorn is out in flower which I always love. Walked along the canal again and but in the opposite direction to yesterday and stopped for coffee at a little independent place, in one of the old railway arches. Lots of dogs around which I love.
Sunshine after the rain
Saturday 9th May Threatening rain but was still fine. Great to see people sat at the Canal barge cafe having drinks and a chat. Plenty of ducks and geese, no swans. Good to see the rowing club practicing Go Girls and Guys. Hope everyone else is having a good time on their walks and runs First week down three more to go.
MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU
Monday 4th May It’s the fourth mile and realised I should have got myself organised and done my mile dressed as Darth Vader. Will remember next year. Loving the smells of BBQs everyone is having and having a chilled walk as the weather picks up a bank holiday monday. Playlist for today:-
