I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Thank You
Saturday 28th MarI just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been so generous in supporting me so far with my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge.
I originally set a target of £150, so to have already gone past that is incredible. I’m genuinely so grateful for all the donations, kind words and encouragement.
Because of your support, I’ve now raised my target to £350, which would be amazing to achieve.
This means a lot to me for personal reasons, so seeing people get behind it in this way has been both humbling and motivating. Every single bit of support helps, and I can’t thank you enough for being part of it.
Thank you all again.
Michael
Why I’m walking.
Friday 27th MarI’m taking part in the RNLI Mayday Mile by walking a mile every day for 31 days. It’s a challenge I wanted to do because this charity is very close to my family’s heart. When I was a child, my brother drowned in Morecambe Bay, and I still remember the hard work, commitment and dedication of the crews over those terrible hours. The RNLI’s lifesaving work means a great deal to so many families, and as an independent charity receiving less than 1% of its funding from government, every mile walked and every donation given really does matter. This is my way of showing support for the incredible people who give so much to help others.
