I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

What a worthy cause!

Monday 16th Mar
Raising money for the RNLI Lifeboats means a great deal to me because it supports an incredible charity that saves lives at sea every single day. Having grown up on the coast in Southport, the presence of the lifeboats was always a reassuring reminder that there were brave volunteers ready to help anyone in danger on the water. The RNLI relies heavily on public support to keep its crews, boats, and equipment ready to respond at a moment’s notice, so fundraising feels like a small way to give back to the people who dedicate their time and risk their safety to protect others along our coastline. I interviewed a member of the RNLI on my radio show a few years back and it was one of the most fascinating and earnest shows we ever did. My respect for those volunteers is huge, so I really hope my small effort can contribute something to their ongoing funds.
