I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

A Different Walk Today

Saturday 25th May
My walk took me around the streets, parks and Malls in the state of Virginia today. Quite a slow walk as the temperature is a balmy 28 C and I needed to pop in to shops and malls to make use of the air conditioning. Very pleasant, albeit hot walk where I experienced wildlife (many Chipmunks), flora, fauna and bargains galore. 7.21 miles today, very pleased with that. 6 days left to go!

14 days walking

Tuesday 14th May
1 mile a day - nah, I can do better than that!!! Currently at just under 37 miles with 17 days to go until the end of May. Hoping to break 50 miles but if I can do more I will certainly try my hardest. It’s slowly getting easier and my walking pace has definitely improved. It’s all for a very worthy cause and your support is very much appreciated.
Thank you!

May Day

Wednesday 1st May
Happy May Day all. Started this 31 day challenge with a minor knee injury, but it didn’t stop me getting out and doing the walk. Walk one today was 2.69 miles and Walk two with the dog was 0.93 miles. Not a bad start. As I said, I’m determined to walk further than a mile each day for this amazing cause. Until tomorrow 😬
