Fundraising for the RNLI

By Rebecca McGrattan

I’m fundraising for the RNLI to help power brave lifesavers to the rescue

Every day, around the coasts of the UK and Ireland, RNLI volunteers are kitting up to answer desperate calls for help. But they can’t launch to the rescue without support. The RNLI relies on donations to fund the kit and training volunteers need to save lives at sea and return safely home. I’m fundraising to help them stay ready to rescue.

As a school, we have been concerned about the numbers of young people who have lost their lives in the water particularly during recent periods of hot weather.

Inspired by a true story, a former colleague has written a play which aims to educate the audience on how to keep safe near water. We thought this was an ideal time to put on the play and to raise some money to support the RNLI at the same time.
