I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Day 11:

Sunday 11th May
Almost two weeks in and I’m still keeping up with my mile a day!

I have been swimming the last few days as the weather has been delicious! And today I went for a walk as I’d had a busy day in the garden and was too knackered for a swim!

The challenge so far

Friday 9th May
So far I have managed to walk, paddleboard or swim a mile a day and then some!

I haven’t been regularly updating this fundraising page as the majority of donations have come via Facebook.

But I thought I’d summarise my adventures thus far.

First 1.4 miles done!

Thursday 1st May
Got up for a morning walk and already boxed off 1.4 mayday miles! A little slower than my usual pace as I have a leg injury but that still won’t deter me

Activities

Sunday 6th Apr
This may I will be paddleboarding, swimming or walking 1 mile a day!

I have lived near to the water my whole life so I understand how important the RNLI is in water safety, education and life saving situations.
