Rosie's Mayday Mile

Help Me Save Every One!

Hi! I'm Rosie, and I'm a Face-to-Face Fundraiser for the RNLI. This May, I'm challenging myself to run a mile every single day! Those of you who know me will tell you that running isn't exactly my thing but I wanted to push myself with something difficult to raise awareness for a cause that's very important to me.

The RNLI is incredibly close to my heart. As a SCUBA diver, a swimmer, and a Marine Biology student at Bangor University, the sea plays a huge role in my life. Every weekend, I fundraise with the North Wales RNLI team, and I've had the privilege of meeting crew members from lifeboat stations all over North Wales and Anglesey - with Beaumaris being my absolute favourite (thank you James for all the cups of tea).

Working alongside the RNLI, I've heard incredible rescue stories firsthand. Beaumaris Lifeboat Station alone was called out 58 times last year. The bravery and dedication of every single crew member I've met is beyond inspiring. They volunteer and put their own lives at risk to ensure others make it safely back to their loved ones, and it's their selfless acts of kindness that motivated me to take on this challenge.

Every year, around 138 people die by accident in UK and Irish coastal waters, with Gwynedd being one of the areas in the top 51% for accidental coastal deaths. To put it bluntly, without the RNLI, people would lose their lives at sea every single day.

If you love the sea - whether you swim, paddleboard, kayak, dive, or even just enjoy walking by the coast - I encourage you to support the RNLI. Your donation will help crews to continue their lifesaving work while also affording the appropriate kit to keep themselves safe.

Please consider donating today and helping me make a difference. Together, we can help the RNLI keep more people safe and ensure that every crew member gets to return home to their families after each rescue.

Help me save every one today.

Thank you!
