How your support helped the RNLI in 2024

437 Lives saved

25,327 People aided by lifeboat crews and lifeguards

9,141 Lifeboat launches

I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Running the Mayday Mile for the RNLI: Every Step Saves Lives

When most of us think about the sea, we picture calm waves, family days out, and fresh coastal air. But for the brave crews of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), the sea can turn dangerous in seconds. Every call they answer is a race against time—and that’s exactly why events like the Mayday Mile matter.

This May, I’m taking on the Mayday Mile: a simple challenge with a powerful purpose. Run a mile, raise awareness, and help support the incredible volunteers who risk their lives to save others at sea.

Why the RNLI Matters

The RNLI is a charity built on courage, commitment, and community. Available 24/7, their lifeboat crews and lifeguards respond to emergencies in some of the toughest conditions imaginable. They don’t get paid—they do it because they care.

Every year, they save thousands of lives around the UK coastline. But they rely entirely on donations to keep going. That’s where we come in.

What is the Mayday Mile?

The Mayday Mile is for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned runner chasing a personal best or just getting started, one mile is achievable—and meaningful.

Run it your way:

- Push for a fast time
- Jog at your own pace
- Walk it with friends or family

It’s not about speed. It’s about showing support.

My Challenge

I’m not just running one mile—I’m using it as a symbol. A reminder that even small efforts can make a big difference. Each step represents the people the RNLI help every day, and the dedication of those who answer the call.

Why You Should Get Involved

Because one mile can:

- Help fund lifesaving equipment
- Support volunteer crews
- Raise awareness of water safety

And most importantly—it can help save lives.

How You Can Support

- Take part in the Mayday Mile yourself
- Share the message with others
- Donate if you can

Every action counts.

Final Thought

Running a mile might feel small—but when it’s for something bigger than yourself, it becomes powerful.

This May, let’s run for those who can’t. Let’s run for the crews who never hesitate. Let’s run for the RNLI.

Every step. Every mile. Every life matters.
