I’m taking on the Mayday Mile challenge to support RNLI volunteers

This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile challenge and support the courageous crews?

My Updates

Final day

Saturday 1st Jun
Well that’s a wrap!
A total of 122.6 miles walked during May and a lovely £153 raised. Thank you to everyone who supported me and donated via my fundraising page. This money will help the RNLI and its crews to continue to save lives at sea.

Again Thank you!

Distance target achieved

Thursday 30th May

Fundraising target reached again!

Tuesday 28th May
I set a target to raise a £125, once I had hit that target I raised my target to a £150 and I am pleased to announce I have now achieved that target and a little more 😁
Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me. I still have 4 days and 5 miles to go in the MayDay Mile Challenge and would absolutely love to raise more!

Half way to distance target

Saturday 18th May
I have now achieved the half way point of my total distance that I set. Not bad going and we’re only half way through the month!

Target reached

Saturday 11th May
I have reached my target of £125 😁so, what do you do once you’ve done that? That’s easy, you raise your target amount!
I’m so thankful to those who have kindly and generously donated, thank you! But I want to raise more so more lives can be saved at sea.
Let’s see if I can now achieve my new target if £150 🤔

Day 10

Friday 10th May
10 days in to my challenge and it’s going well. I have taken to going out for a walk during my lunch break, I’m quite lucky because we have a lovely woodland walk near to my place of work.
I have changed the total number of miles I wish to complete by the end of the month from 31 miles to 115 miles and I have nearly reached my target of £125, only another £30 to raise.
All in all the challenge is on target 😊

Day one

Wednesday 1st May
Started the mile a day challenge today and have managed to actually walk 4.6 miles. Not a bad start to the challenge!

Help save lives at sea

Saturday 30th Mar
I am going to be walking a mile a day, everyday in May to help raise funds for the RNLI. No-one goes out to the beach or in the sea thinking they are going to need the help of the RNLI but circumstances and weather can change all that in a split second. The RNLI is made up of volunteers who put their lives on the line to help save others and rely on the generosity and donations to help keep this vital service running.
So please, if you can spare a little bit of money and help me reach my target of £250 not only will I be grateful, but you will also be helping save lives at sea.
