I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

May Day Mile…Why?
Thursday 24th AprHello! Thank you for visiting my page! You may be wondering…why on earth are you doing the May Day Mile for the RNLI Soraya?
Well not only did I need the motivation to get moving and lose a bit of timber, but the work the RNLI do day in day out on our country’s coast lines, is one that has personally touched my family and I.
On the 27th of December 2006, my Uncle Robert Warburton was due to come home to spend a late Christmas with us. After working over Christmas the journey home from working offshore did not go to plan.
Many will not recall the shock that the Morecambe Bay helicopter crash brought across the North West. However, the courageous actions of those within the RNLI (many volunteers) which took place in the hours and days after the helicopter went down, are ones that as a family we are incredibly grateful for.
The crew spent hours sometimes in harrowing conditions to conduct searches and eventually, recoveries. It was due to this we were able to say goodbye to my dear Uncle Bob.
Throughout my childhood I distinctly recall visiting RNLI sites, boat launches and witnessing the incredible, selfless work that they do to help keep our coast lines safe.
Thank you for taking the time to view my page and if at all possible, you can spare a few pennies to support such an important cause!
