My Updates

Day 11

Sunday 11th May
I did a bit of power rowing, then a got into a steady tempo for the rest of the session. I'm at the fourteen and a bit mile mark!

Day 10

Saturday 10th May
I got up early and did my rowing as a fasted cardio session to improve my endurance and avoid the heat of the day! I'm now at the thirteen and a bit mile mark. Thank you for your continued support and already generous donations. 💪

Day 9

Friday 9th May
I'm pleased go report I'm at the twelve and bit mile mark and I'm entering the middle part of my rowing challenge — eighteen and a bit miles to go!

Over the ten mile mark already!

Thursday 8th May
Its 10.9 miles to be precise! I'm rowing at a steady pace with good form! Cranking out the miles. Thank you for the moral support.
..

A week into my Mayday Mile rowing machine challenge 💪

Wednesday 7th May
I'm really enjoying the rowing so far — ask me again on day thirty one how I feel !

6 May — around a quarter of the way!

Tuesday 6th May
I have broken the spine of the rowing today. I'm continuing at a steady pace and rowing continuously. I'm finding it easier to focus and power on now I have got the technique nailed. Thank you for your continued encouragement and moral support.

5 May Bank Holiday rowing session completed and almost £580 raised!

Monday 5th May
It was another steady row today to clock up my mile and a bit. Happy Bank Holiday! Thank you for your continued moral support and donations.

[Insert tired joke about 4th May]

Sunday 4th May
A steady —continuous— pace was achieved today on day 4 of the Mayday Mile! The miles rowed are steadily clocking up!

Day 3 and just over four miles rowed in total

Saturday 3rd May
Once again it's forecast to be a wonderful and sunny day. Which I'm grateful for! So I got up early again and cranked out my mile and bit at a moderate pace, continuously! Thanks for your continued support.

Mayday Mile — 3 miles down and over £550 raised so far!

Friday 2nd May
It's beautiful the hot weather! However I got up early to minimise the impact of the heat of the day on my rowing. That's 3 miles down 28 miles to row. Once again a big thank you to all who have generously donated to me completing this challenge on behalf of the RNLI. I chose to raise funds for them because they act as the fourth emergency service and will help anyone in their time of need. Which is a wonderful thing in my opinion! 🌈

Pinch punch first day of the month!

Thursday 1st May
I managed to continously row at a steady pace and clocked up 1.4 miles today on the first day of the Mayday Mile challenge. Thank you for the generous donations and moral support!

All systems at the ready

Monday 28th Apr
I've been practicing my rowing technique with a focus on endurance to ensure I can continuously row my mile daily at pace! I'm excited to start clocking up my distance from the 1 May which is now only a few days away!

Preparation, preparation, preparation

Thursday 24th Apr
I'm keeping on keeping on with the rowing practice ahead of the official start date on the 1 May. Thank you all for your generous support in helping reach and surpass the original fundraising goal.

WOW we have surpassed the £300 point!

Saturday 19th Apr
Such kindness and generosity! Thank you.

I have been rowing in preparation for doing a mile a day! My aim is to row a mile continously each day — without pause. I do like a little challenge.

Whoop whoop!

Thursday 17th Apr
Thank you to my most beneficent supporters for helping me reach my fundraising target already. Such kindness from good people. You will be pleased to hear I'm clocking up distance on HMS Going Nowhere and my hands have the calluses to prove it.

Thanks to my generous sponsors we have reached the halfway point.

Wednesday 16th Apr
I'm very touched by everyone's kindness and generous donations which have allowed me to reach the halfway fundraising point already! Thank you kind people 💜

Thank you for the generous donations — every pound counts!

Wednesday 16th Apr
I have been on the HMS Going Nowhere clocking up my kilometres/miles in preparation for this challenge. My rowing technique & my mental focus is improving.

Taking my preparations seriously!

Wednesday 9th Apr
I'm on a training plan to ensure I'm in ship shape to row my 31 miles on my rowing machine in May. I have dubbed my rowing machine HMS Going Nowhere. I'm pleased to report we have already hit 25% of the fundraising target too. Thank you to all who have given generously already.

A mile a day in May — mostly on my rowing machine!

Saturday 5th Apr
I decided to sign up for this initiative as I love a fitness challenge but doing a triathlon is not really my thing. So I'll be mostly rowing to get my kilometres in for the RNLI,  a great cause — to support the wonderful people that volunteer and contine to deliver this life saving service. Any donations greatly appreciated! I'll provide updates as I go!
