I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers

Most of my family and friends know that I'm a huge supporter of the RNLI, and this May I'll be completing a mile-a-day challenge to help raise funds so that RNLI crews can save lives at sea.

During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.

By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kind donations, however big or small, will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.

Please, if you're able to, sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous RNLI crews.

Thank you xx

My Updates

🥳 31 days - check. Walk each day - check. Mayday Mile Challenge completed - check! 🥳

Monday 1st Jun
Completed! 🥳 I've power walked each and every day in May. Last night, returning from the theatre, I realised that I was just 1.88 miles (3.02 km) off doing 93 miles – average 3 miles a day. I took on this challenge for a cause I wholeheartedly believe in, and in memory of my dad who was a huge supporter. He always encouraged us to go the extra mile…. So that last walk, finishing just before midnight on 31st was for you dad!!
🐞
No yellow wellies for me, just a range of footwear for the weather and location. I can’t walk in the wellies of our brave volunteer crews, but I’ve done the Mayday Mile Challenge to raise funds to support them. Your very kind donations are very much appreciated and will ensure that our crews can get the training and kit that they need to stay safe while they are saving every life they can at sea. THANK YOU 💜💜💜
If you haven’t donated yet, but would like to support my efforts/RNLI, there’s still time…

24 days in - 7 days to go....

Sunday 24th May
It's been a busy couple of weeks, and some days I've only managed to fit in just over a mile - but it is a mile!  I've completed Day 24 and my total now stands at 70 miles - which means I've hit my own target of averaging 2 miles a day 🥳 seven more days, seven more walks... aiming to get my total to 85 miles now 🥾🥾

First week completed, 7 walks done

Thursday 7th May
Well, that's the first week completed.  I've done a 'power walk' each day, and have clocked up 25.5 miles so far.  Not as many miles as others I'm sure, but a dedicated effort, and at least a mile per day.
I'm missing my walk buddy Tag, who has now gone back home, but I must admit I walk faster without him 🤣

Bring on next week.....

May 1 - Off we go!

Friday 1st May
So here we are 1 May, and I'm starting the Mayday Mile challenge... about as far inland as you can get!  Most of my miles will be done slap bang in the centre of the country as I'm a long way from the coast.  Doesn't stop me supporting the RNLI though!
Meet my walk buddy, Tag, he'll be joining me for the first few days of May. Over 6 miles done today.

Getting ready... yellow kit has arrived!

Saturday 25th Apr
It's nearly time for me to start the Mayday Mile challenge!  From Friday 1 May I'll be clocking up (at least) a mile each day throughout May.
My Yellow t-shirt is ready and waiting to be worn......

You're all Superstars! 💜

Tuesday 3rd Mar
My family and friends are brilliant. My page is only a day old, and I'm close to my fundraising target. And May is still 58 days away! I'm humbled, and motivated in equal measure, and will be sure to do the miles in May. Dad will be by my side 🐞 iykyk 💜xx
