RNLI Tower Run 2025
The RNLI Tower Run is London’s biggest stair climb challenge, with runners tackling over 1,400 steps whilst raising money to support the RNLI's lifesaving work in London and along the UK coastline.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Powered by kind donations, our search and rescue service has been saving lives around the UK for over 200 years.
Every pound and penny raised from the RNLI Tower Run will go towards equipping our volunteer lifeboat crews with the essential training, kit, boats and materials required to continue our lifesaving mission for years to come.

Payback for a broken back
Saturday 12th JulIn 2010, my life changed in an instant. While water skiing in the Severn Estuary near Burnham-on-Sea, I had a serious accident that left me with a broken back. In that moment of fear and uncertainty, with the waters of the estuary around me, I didn’t know if I’d make it out alive. But thanks to the incredible bravery and quick response of the RNLI volunteers, I’m here today to tell my story. That’s why I’ve signed up for the RNLI Tower Run at 22 Bishopsgate, London’s tallest and toughest tower run. On October 25th I’ll be climbing 58 floors and over 1,500 stairs in the very building where the RNLI was founded over 200 years ago. It’s a daunting challenge, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges the RNLI volunteers face every day when they head out into dangerous waters to save lives. The Severn Estuary alone sees an average of 14 fatalities a year, and with increasing incidents, the RNLI’s work is more vital than ever.
My journey since the accident hasn’t been easy. Recovering from a broken back took time, resilience, and the support of my loved ones. But it also gave me a new perspective on life and a deep appreciation for those who risk their own safety to help others. The RNLI volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and I’m proud to support them through this challenge.
Thank you for reading my story and for supporting this incredible cause. Let’s make every step count!
