I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

Day 26-31
Saturday 31st MayFinal Mayday Mile update raising money for the RNLI. Think it’s fair to say the boys have smashed it, we were not strong on walking an extra mile everyday but the boys did complete the miles by doing longer walks/runs/cycles!
Thankyou to everyone who has sponsored us! If you still wish to then the link is on my stories (hopefully)!
Day 26 - A short 28 mile cycle down the Tarka Trail in Devon with the Jones family. Archie cycled it all by himself, Rowan and Ralph were on various attachments to adult bikes and Iris spent the time pulling off her helmet causing it to break.
Day 27 - We had a short walk down the river in Barnstaple (a mile only) which included a cream tea. Some of us were aching from the cycling!
Day 28 - Marcus and Archie did a 15 mile walk with the other Jones men whilst the rest of us went to a wildlife park, the boys pretended to be wallabies for a short while.
Day 29 - We completed a 4.5 mile walk along the South Coast Path and up Watersmeet. The kids had fun playing in the stream.
Day 30 - We spent the day on the beach, think even Iris managed to walk a mile throughout the day as she followed the boys around and tried to eat sand on a regular basis.
Day 31 - A quick cycle up to the shops to get our last mile in.

Day 18-25
Saturday 31st MayDay 18 - Made Marcus and the children walk home from church to complete the mile. I had a very quiet walk round Sainsbury’s. Iris enjoyed the walk very much.
Day 19 - Bike ride and Scoot up the cuckoo trail to drop a friend home ❤️
Day 20 - We took a long walk home from school, the boys were not impressed - however a quick treat meant they were happier to complete the mile.
Day 21 - I went for a run as sometimes it easier to do things by myself!
Day 22 - Missed because of swimming
Day 23 - Missed because we went on holiday 🏖️ (our holiday does not look this sunny)
Day 24 - Archie and I did park run in Barnstaple, it was flat so it wasn’t too horrific.
Day 25 - A short walk to the beach and back, around a 4 mile round walk with cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents. Iris added her bit by making various people walk her around the beach!
Almost there!! if you would like to sponsor us I will add a link to my stories and in highlights.

Day 8-17
Sunday 18th MayWe have continued walking but haven’t always been the best at recording, or posting. We have missed a couple of days as some days have been full, but the boys completed an 8 mile walk today to make up for it 💪🏻
Day 8 - The boys and I took a slightly random stroll to the cake shop to get our mile in before swimming. It worked and we managed it and some of us got the much needed caffeine before the joy that is swim lessons.
Day 9 - Fridays are always manic as we help run the kids club at church so no chance of walking a mile after school.
Day 10 - Too busy pool partying 🎉
Day 11 - We went to the seaside and had a quick walk up the seafront to make sure we fitted the mile into the day.
Day 12 - Marcus took the boys for a cycle whilst I did a KIT day at work, I believe that the trip out involved chocolate and I’m only slightly bitter that none was brought for me.
Day 13 - As it was Ralph’s birthday we combined the Mayday mile with Ralph’s party and completed a spy trail and the mile with an extra 5 children in tow. Fortunately we managed to return all children to their parents at the end of the trail.
Day 14 - No miles walked, still in recovery from the night before
Day 15 - Marcus took the boys for a walk before swimming, apparently there was a point where he had to crawl under a fence, unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of this.
Day 16 - Friday again.
Day 17 - The boys and I completed an eight mile walk from Newhaven station to Peacehaven and back. We went past the lifeboat station and the coastguard tower, the boys were disappointed that there was no emergency.
