I’’m taking on the Reindeer Run Challenge for RNLI lifesavers

This December, I’m donning my antlers and strapping up my hooves to run 24 miles before Christmas Day all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.

Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.

I’m raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. I’d be so grateful if instead of sending me a card or giving me a gift this Christmas you could sponsor me a few pennies or pounds for this great cause. 

As so many of you will know I lost my Dad on Fathers Day in June 2024. Dad spent over half his lifetime volunteering to raise monies for the RNLI by planning years of events as local branch secretary, including the Sidmouth committee RNLI events, Sidmouth Regatta and famous BOXING DAY SWIM. Why the Reindeer Run in December. Because on 25th December this year my Dad would be turning 79 so to celebrate that in his memory, I aim to complete the challenge before or on 25th! I’m no runner, and certainly not in winter weathers, but, I’ll do this and it will be a challenge for me!

I will continue to support the work of the RNLI and Sidmouths own independent lifeboat who work so closely with the RNLI, not only in my Dads legacy but because in my role as owning Turtle Tots Exeter & Devon, and as a mum living by the sea, I’m so passionate about water safety and the core purpose of the RNLI, Saving Lives at Sea.
