Started the week strong
Ana was like Hermes with her new trainers and we both managed to shave some seconds off our fastest time.Week 1 Update: 27 Miles Down
What a start. We’ve clocked up 27 miles in our first week and while we’ve not run every step, we have kept our promise to run at least a mile a day.
The boldest moment of the week came when we tried to run 5k after a leg session at the gym. In hindsight that was optimistic at best. There was plenty of starting and stopping. Hearing Dog Valley joined us which slowed the pace right down since every interesting smell demanded a full investigation. In all honesty our legs were grateful for the breaks.
The weather has not been kind either. Wind, rain, cold snaps, you name it. And every time we were tempted to moan, we reminded ourselves that RNLI crews face these conditions as part of their daily reality. They head out when everyone else heads in. Putting in these miles feels like the least we can do in support.
Thank you for every donation and every message. It means more than you know. On to week two.
Day 4
1st dry evening but it was cold 🥶We're taking on the Reindeer Run Challenge for RNLI lifesavers
This December, we're donning our antlers and strapping up our hooves to run at least 24 miles (Sleigh to 5k) – all to help keep RNLI volunteers safe this winter.
Freezing seas, numbing winds and sub-zero temperatures – would you fancy launching into that aboard a lifeboat? RNLI crews will be doing just that, battling the elements this winter to continue their mission to save every one.
We're raising money so they have everything they need to answer the call for help. Because no matter how harsh the winter weather might be, lifeboat crews will always launch to the rescue. We’d be so grateful if you could sponsor us.
