I’m taking on the Mayday Mile Challenge to support RNLI volunteers
This May, I’m completing a mile-a-day challenge to help RNLI crews save lives at sea.
During summertime, more people flock to beaches and coastal towns to make the most of everything they have to offer – from glorious sunshine to adventurous watersports. And as temperatures rise, so do calls from people in trouble in the water.
By answering this Mayday call and giving a gift today, you can make a real, lifesaving difference. Your kindness will help give volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue, and make sure they’re ready to face their busiest season.
Will you sponsor my RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge and support the courageous crews?

May Challenge
Tuesday 22nd AprSure! Here’s a blog post you can use or tweak as you like. It explains your motivation for taking on the RNLI Mile-a-Day Challenge in a personal and relatable way:
Why I’m Taking on the RNLI Mile-a-Day Challenge
When I first heard about the RNLI Mile-a-Day Challenge, I knew straight away it was something I wanted to do. It’s simple, it’s powerful, and most importantly—it’s for a cause that genuinely matters.
The RNLI has always had my respect. These volunteers head out in all kinds of weather, putting their lives on the line to save others. Whether it’s a boat in trouble, someone swept off the rocks, or a swimmer caught in a rip current—they’re there, every time. And they do it without hesitation. That kind of bravery deserves our support.
So walking (or running) just one mile a day feels like a small thing I can do to show my appreciation. It’s a chance to raise money, yes—but also to raise awareness. The sea is unpredictable. Things go wrong. And when they do, the RNLI is often the difference between life and death.
On a personal note, I’ve also been looking for a way to stay active and do something with a bit of purpose behind it. Life gets busy, but committing to this daily mile gives me a moment each day to step away, reflect, and feel like I’m part of something bigger.
I’ll be logging my miles, and sharing updates along the way. If you’d like to support the RNLI by donating, cheering me on, or even joining the challenge yourself—I’d love that.
Let’s keep each other safe out there. And let’s keep supporting the people who are always ready to answer the call.
